Ammonium Hydroxide is a weak base in terms of chemical ionization, and solutions of it can be assayed with a standardized solution of a strong acid, such as Hydrochloric Acid or Sulfuric Acid. The endpoint can be determined potentiometrically or by using an indicator that changes color in the pH range 4 - 6. Methyl Red is a suitable indicator.
A 1 Normal (Molar) solution of Ammonium Hydroxide contains approximately 68 mL of concentrated Ammonium Hydroxide per liter.
